Q4B uses the purchased items and donated materials we receive to sew quilt blocks, then we stitch them together into a quilt top, add the quilt batting (middle layer), add the material on the back, and quilt the fabric layers together all right here in our own facility.    We obtain supplies and notions from our local fabric stores (such as JoAnn Fabrics), we use sewing and embroidery machines from Abbey Sewing Centers, and we use the Nolting Manufacturing Longarm Pro Series quilt machines.  

We strive to make smaller lap quilt sizes and baby quilt sizes, as they are more portable, hangable, and huggable.  The Q4B quilts are not intended to provide warmth from the cold, but instead to provide warmth to the hearts of their recipients. 

  -  We can make baby quilts that are meant for those military parents overseas,
  -  We can make quilts with a more masculine flare to them,
  -  We can make quilts with a more feminine flare as well.
  -  And we can make quilts that are personalized.

Before the final product is quilted, Q4B adds a special touch in embroidery on the back of every quilt.  A dedication, if you will.  It says that the quilt was handmade by Quilts For Battle, the date it was made, and it is given a unique number.  If the quilt top was made/donated by an individual or organization, we will be happy to embroider your first name and last initial or company name with the dedication, if you so choose. 

Each quilt will go overseas with a special tag, to help it get to the appropriate person, and our business card in hopes that the recipient will in turn, locate our website and update us on their gift.  Each quilt will be featured on our site and will be recorded in a physical album at our facility.  We hope that we get responses from the recipients so that we can feature them on our site as well.  Maybe you will see your handiwork making an impact halfway across the world....
